Any bird that has collided with a window needs to be taken to a wildlife rehabilitator asap. Even if you think the bird may be ok and they try to fly away, they may experience internal bleeding or brain swelling during the next 24 - 48 hours that needs to be monitored and treated by a professional. Please call your local wildlife rehabilitation center immediately for assistance or if you’re in SLO county call us at 805-543-9453.I'm already starting to see people posting images of "tame" songbirds that are sitting on the ground, eyes partly closed - these are often window strike victims who've hit glass on their first migration south to their wintering grounds. Luckily, there are attractive solutions! I'm personally partial to Feather Friendly tape - it puts small dots on your window, so you can still see out and enjoy the beautiful view. But there are many other solutions, from string to tape and more.

Today is #WorldLizardDay! A day set to appreciate all the different lizard species of the world. Lizards can be found on every continent except Antarctica. They are beneficial to the ecosystem and are fascinating to observe. At PWC, we also treat reptiles including many of the lizards species found here on the central coast.
