An Arroyo Grande teen hosts a community birthday party to raise awareness for Pacific Wildlife Care.

McKaila Lewis invites her friends, family, and the community to her birthday party every year, but in lieu of gifts, she asks for a donation to Pacific Wildlife Care. She has been holding this event since she was in the first grade.

Pacific Wildlife Care volunteers do demonstrations with their animals at the party. Lewis says she just wants to show other kids that they too can make a difference.

This year Lewis raised around $400 but said donations are still coming in. For more information on the cause, click here.
