Finally!
The Pacific Wildlife Care Wildlife Center opened officially May 1, 2007.
Wouldn't you find it exciting to actually see and touch wildlife while helping them out?
Volunteer Please - We are eager to obtain new volunteers to help staff the new center. The Pacific Wildlife Care Center will be receiving wildlife in May 2007. If you would like to work at the center please volunteer (if you aren't a member, you need to do that first)! We need volunteers to let us know if they would like to work a shift at the center. Please EMAIL US and let us know if you’re interested.
Construction Expertise Found
In 2002 Andrea Muenter, now Treasurer, and still Grant Writer, wrote a grant request for $14,900 to build a seabird cage as part of the Wildlife Center
Project. In December of 2002, The Glide Foundation awarded us that money. Although the center is built, we have temporary occupancy and we won’t qualify for permanent occupancy until the seabird cage is built. Dave Barrows, a PWC volunteer worked feverishly to get this seabird cage built. He found volunteers with construction experience to help him in the building of this structure which was occupied beginning in May of 2007.
